Team Pink? Or Team Blue? Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails or sugar and spice? Is it a girl or a boy? Whether you find out on the day of arrival, or at your 20 week ultrasound, it is the most exciting surprise life offers, both very exciting in their own, but neither as creative as this special friend and client. Jill and Nick wanted to share this moment of first learning their child’s gender with their friends and family in a fun and different way! So the nurse sealed it in an envelope, and they entrusted the secret only to me! (high pitched squeals abound!) Jill had purchased little baby Toms for both boy and girl, I wrapped the sweet little surprise and constructed a gift box to shower them with pink or blue glitter to reveal the surprise and captured their responses. What a fun experience the whole thing was and another first for me, I loved it!!

The butterflies that I think we all felt were priceless!! As I hid away to prepare the surprise, I never would have imagined the feeling and anticipation that was to come! My heart was beating a mile a minute at the excitement for this couple's great news and I can only imagine their feelings as they were about to find out whether they would welcome a little Miss or Mr. B in the Spring! They both expressed how they got little sleep the night before, and just as Jill was about to open the box, Nick says to her, "My heart is about to beat out of my chest, OPEN THE DANG BOX!" LOL! So fun!!

After the big reveal,  we headed down to the Sandpoint City Beach, in freezing temps with the couple's 2 year old chocolate lab and caught a few more photographs PLUS a beautiful Sandpoint sunrise. These are quite possibly some of my favorite images this year! I love where we live! Sandpoint came through once again!!

Jill and Nick, thank you so much for letting me be part of such a special moment in your lives!! I cannot wait to meet little Miss B in April!!
