7 Summer Photo Opps to Add to Your Memory Making Shot List

With the Fourth of July behind us and a Summer of more memories ahead... you’re likely scrolling through your camera roll from the weekend — all the yummy dishes you made, super cute kiddos and family in all the red, white, & blue attire, or maybe you’re even tidying up your home after hosting!

In the spirit of documenting memories in which we all do on the daily not to mention all the summer activities, both big and small, I want to encourage you:

Capturing your life doesn’t need to be a production...

Some of the most cherished memories are those that inspire emotion on a daily basis, big holidays or normal days!

So, in honor of the 4th of July, I've gathered a few of my favorite photogenic bucket list ideas so you can have fun AND get some cute photos just by living your life with little to no cleaning or prep (unless you *want* to dress up because I fully support that too)!

1. Go on a camping trip (or just put up a tent in your backyard) - Spend a night camping with your best friends or family! Go all out or take a slightly easier route by glamping in your living room!

2. Capture your mouth watering dishes. If your little one is a fan of a particular food, or dessert, your hubby's favorite bbq meal or your go to eay-to-prep dinner, take a moment to snap a few pics!

3. Spend a day at the lake (or pool)! Pack a lunch, slather on the sunscreen, and enjoy a break from the summer heat. Don’t forget to get in the photo, Momma!

4. Take a minute to document behind the scenes or everyday routine. It's the little moments when no one is looking for me! Or maybe reading a book with your morning coffee or snuggling your baby after bath time, snap a photo.

5. Go to the Farmer's Market! Find a local "pick-your-own" fruit orchard or just buy from your local artisans and share their business at the same time while enjoying your local finds!

6. Mark small moments in the everyday. Did you just finish a house project? Did your little one smile for the first time or take their first steps? Pull out your phone and snap a photo! No fancy backdrop required. :)

7. Embrace the mess. Rather than fuss over a perfectly curated photo, or risk missing a sweet sibling hugging moment by shoving laundry out of the way before snapping the photo, just leave it. Sometimes, the cluttered, real aspects of our homes help the photo to tell more of a story, especially when you look back years later!

I can’t wait to see your photos! When you share them, be sure to tag me @janelgion so I can celebrate in your magical AND messy moments with you. :)

Xo,

Janel
